Memory of Xinjiang is a beautifully crafted composition that blends traditional Chinese musical heritage with cinematic production. Rich in emotion, atmosphere, and cultural authenticity, it offers an immersive listening experience while introducing the beauty of Chinese music to a global audience.

Working on “Drum Zen” gave me the opportunity to explore a different way of experiencing instrumental music.We wanted the visuals to feel more than just something you watch. By bringing together light, imagery, and the natural energy of the drums, we created a space where sound and vision could breathe together. For me, the most rewarding part was finding that quiet moment behind the rhythm—a sense of stillness and Zen within the movement.

Whenever SINO Music brings us a new project, it feels like the beginning of another creative adventure. We start with the music, then explore together how to turn it into something visual, immersive, and alive. Their ideas and music always spark new inspiration for us—whether we are working with real locations or building an entire world through virtual production.

What impressed me most was SINO Music's ability to transform a creative vision into a polished production. The film beautifully combined six of my paintings with AI-assisted visuals and live-action cinematography, creating a compelling story that bridges imagination and reality.

SINO Music produced my soft-bow Jinghu solo work “Ciocarlia,” and I was deeply impressed by the quality, professionalism, and artistic vision of the production. The project presents the unique voice of the Jinghu with authenticity and contemporary clarity, bringing this traditional Chinese instrument to international audiences.For me, it was more than a music project—it was a meaningful way to share our musical heritage with the world.

What I really enjoyed about “Glory” and “Joy” is the way they bring the energy of a live ensemble into a cinematic production.The music feels rich and carefully crafted, but never loses its warmth and spontaneity. There is a beautiful balance between tradition and contemporary sound, taking the listener from moments of quiet reflection to a sense of celebration and joy

It is a major production I created in collaboration with percussionist Yun Fei, Sino Music, Manala International Music Studio, Osmanthus Music Studio, and many talented musicians from China. It was a deeply rewarding experience. Together, we explored a new interpretation of the relationship between the powerful energy of Chinese drums and the meditative spirit of Zen. I hope Drum Zen can offer a moment of stillness and peace amid the noise and restlessness of modern life.

“Memory of Xinjiang” is more than a music and visual project. It is an emotional journey that brings together sound, imagery, art, and technology to revisit a place through memory. What stays with me is not only the beauty of Xinjiang, but the sense of longing and connection carried through the music. The technology serves the emotion rather than replacing it, giving old memories a new visual and sonic language.

"Memory of Xinjiang" which received the Best Music Video award at the Canadian International Film Festival (CIFF) in 2025. The project was also officially screened on December 20, 2025, at Innis Town Hall in Toronto, Canada, as part of the festival’s Block E program.
